Join us for 2.5 hours of culturally diverse dance performances featuring dance instructors and music from various genres including Latin, African, Hip Hop, Cape Verdean, Zumba and other beautiful visual art forms. Grand Re-opening of Looff Carousel (Please Note Date/Time Change)

(Please note date has change to Saturday at 12 Noon.) Built by pioneer craftsman Charles I.D. Looff in 1894 the carousel was relocated to Slater Park in 1910. The carousel features a functioning North Tonawanda Military band organ, as well as 44 standing horses, 6 menagerie animals (1 camel, 3 dogs, 1 giraffe, 1 lion), and 2 chariots.

The Pawtucket Film Festival: SILENT FILM (Please note location change)

Celebrating its 20th year as part of the festival is the Pawtucket Film Festival. Known for its history of showing thought-provoking and challenging films along with live musical acts and free libations the Film Festival is putting on a special outdoor presentation of Buster Keaton’s silent classic “Steamboat Bill Junior” performed with renowned silent film accompanist Jeff Rapsis in Slater Park on the evening of the 13th.

Animation Creation with RIMOSA

Join RIMOSA (Rhode Island Museum of Science and Art) at the Pawtucket Public Library for an hour-long Animation Creation Program! Make a “mini-animation” to take home, and work in small groups to make your own stop-motion film using found objects. All levels of experience (or lack of it) are welcome! Ages 8 and up.
