Arts Panel Grant

Crossing Borders Exhibition, Pawtucket

Crossing Borders Exhibition, Pawtucket

Funding new artworks

The grant program strives to bring more, free programing available to the public at the Pawtucket Arts Festival. Since we want to make the month of September as special and celebratory of the arts in our city as possible, we are asking for applicants to submit artistic or musical performances to help to enhance the annual festival’s presence. Grants up to $ 1,000 are available (to support artistic performances, exhibitions, workshops and special events targeted to our diverse community and to bring visitors to the City).

Grant awards are determined by the Pawtucket Arts Review Panel based on established criteria, including the project’s artistic merit, potential for cultural and community connections, and the project’s clarity and achievability. Emphasis is also placed on projects that are available at low or no cost to Pawtucket residents.  Successful applicants are reimbursed upon the completion of the project.

Applications for Arts Panel Grant Program can be obtained from the Department of Planning and Redevelopment, located on the first floor of Pawtucket City Hall, 137 Roosevelt Avenue or from the following link: Arts Panel Grant Application.  Applications are due at the Department of Planning and Redevelopment by 4:00 p.m., April 26, 2019.  For information, contact Jay Rosa at (401) 728-0500, Ext.450 or e-mail jrosa@pawtucketri.com.

21st ANNUAL Pawtucket Arts Festival

The Pawtucket Arts Festival celebrates the City’s creative and cultural life by presenting vibrant arts events throughout the month of September to Pawtucket residents and visitors to the Blackstone River Valley.

We collaborate with local and international producing partners to present dance, music, theatre, film, visual, and folk-traditional arts that evoke the City’s historic legacy and diverse communities.  Many of our events are free and for audiences of all ages.

We are thrilled to work alongside our friends and partners to produce the 2019 Festival - which marks our 21st year!

Our participation in the Pawtucket Arts Festival helps raise our profile, helps us feel more connected to our neighbors.

Arts "Pawtucket Style"

Each year, the Pawtucket Arts Festival features long-time favorites, such as Slater Park Fall Festival, the Pawtucket Teachers' Alliance Pops in the Park performance of the Rhode Island Philharmonic, Taiwan Day Festival, the RI-Chinese Dragon Boat Races, SAM’s Fest, and Mixed Magic Theatre Greatness of Gospel Concerts. These events engage thousands of people in the City’s creative and cultural life.

Scheduled to run from September 1 through September 30, the 21st annual PAF will feature debut performances and arts encores that honor the festival’s legacy, while charting its future cultural course.

Mark your calendar now for Downtown Rising, a convergence of three music festivals that represent the cultural diversity of our beloved city, Pawtucket. Rocktucket is finally back after a short hiatus and now accompanied by River Bend and Culture Shock to bring Downtown Pawtucket alive..

Downtown Rising will feature a variety of live music, street performers, activities for children, stunt bike exhibition by Circuit BMX, classic cars, food trucks, art vendors and installations, and fun for the whole family. This is a family friendly event aimed at bringing the whole community together to celebrate 21 years of Pawtucket Arts Festival.
