BRV Commonplaces Folk & Heritage Music Festival

The BRV Commonplaces Folk & Heritage Music Festival is inspired by a long tradition of folk music festivals in Rhode Island, especially the much loved Rhode Island Labor & Ethnic Heritage Festival, a fixture in the Blackstone River Valley for more than two decades. BRV Commonplaces Folk & Heritage Music Festival restores the roots of folk to Pawtucket's Veterans Memorial Amphitheater with songs that speak to equity and justice; classic ballad and maritime songs; Algonquin drum, dance, and song; as well as American folk and originals from Partington & Sweeney, setting the stage for Dogma featuring blues artist Heidi Nirk's foray into new folk. Sally Racket and Eastern Medicine Singers join Partington & Sweeney and Dogma for the BRV Commonplaces Folk & Heritage Music Festival where music and dance meet on common ground for all ages and community audiences.
